Boston Public Health Commission Ryan White Part A Needs Assessment Project
CAHPP staff is conducting a needs assessment and performance gap analysis of the core services and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS in the Boston Eligible Metropolitan Area (EMA). The project serves as a guide to help the Ryan White (RW) Planning Council make informed decisions regarding funding of HIV services. It examines the barriers that prevent people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) both in care and out of care from receiving needed services or from continuing in care. Data are being gathered through consumer and provider surveys and focus groups with special populations including women and youth.
With expected completion in April 2017, the project will provide recommendations to the RW Planning Council in the Boston EMA on models of care for reducing barriers to linkage and retention in care and achieving viral suppression among populations of interest.
